Tuesday, 7/5/11 Report

Posted on 06 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 11:46am
Water Temp: 72.5 degrees
Wind: NW 4kts
Moon Phase: 21% Full

Conditions – I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!! . . . Very late start on the report today. This past weekend is always the busiest of the year for us, which makes updating the site nearly impossible. The good news is that we are having a very good morning of fluking! The conditions are not great with the wind against the tide, but the fluke want to eat! There will be a tide change around noon. Things might even get better with the change.

We are already on our fourth Drift, so I will begin the report from here. High hook has 6 keepers, and there are some with 4 and 5. Spros with a chartreuse Gulp Swimming Minnow and a plain high hook with the same are way out fishing anything else right now.

Fourth Drift
We are on the tide change and waiting for the first of the outgoing water. Things have slowed somewhat, but I anticipate the fluke rodeo will resume soon.

We had a pretty good day of fishing. Chartreuse Gulp swimming minnows did the trick. High hook and pool winner was Danielle Murdoch with 7 keepers.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.
