Anthony Rullo won the July Flukemaster with a 6lb 8oz fluke. Way to go Ant!

Weekend Report
Saturday’s fishing was terrible. No sugarcoating involved. It was just bad. We had a hard east wind with rain that made the day miserable and the fluking lackluster. Sunday was somewhat of a bounce back day. We caught a good number of keepers and had a steady pick of fish for most of the day. We have an east wind again today, but we will see if we can get them going like yesterday.

Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: Low 12:13pm
Water Temp: 78.8°
Wind: E 6kts
Moon Phase: 91% Full
Conditions
East wind again blowing around 8 kts will be up against an outgoing tide. We are going to get set up where we had our most success yesterday and let it roll.
July Flukemaster Update
Only 2 days left to win the monthly pool. Anthony Rullo has had the lead for the majority of the month with a 6lb 8oz fish. The pot is $560.00
First Drift
We moved 15 feet for the entire drift, and caught a few shorts with some sea robins mixed in.
Second Drift
Sharkfest! We were like Frank Mundus hunting the great white. . . Moving into Ambrose for the next one.
Third Drift
Super duper fireball fishing!!!! We beat them up for two hours and threw some very nice keepers in the coolers!
Fourth Drift
We beat them up again. Excellent fishing again on this one. Running up to do it again.
As of late, when I give up on a report, it typically means that the fishing fell apart. Today that was not the case. We had super fluking for the majority of the day in Ambrose. There were moments with 5 to 7 fish on at a time. Hopefully the conditions will allow us to get set up the same way tomorrow!!

Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: Low 9:03am
Water Temp: 80.1°
Wind: W 10kts
Moon Phase: 63% Full
Conditions
A west wind and a the last of the outgoing water will make for very good conditions to begin the day. That was the good news. The bad news is we will have wind against the tide for most of the trip. . . With the conditions this way we are going to get set up in the Reach Channel and give it a good look over. We haven’t touched it during the day in over a month, so we will take advantage of the conditions and see if we can find anything in it.
First Drift
One sea robin. We stopped on a spot that is usually our money spot this time of year, but it looks like it’s in need of a government bailout. Not a fluke.
Second Drift
Made this one a little further east in the Reach and did not have a bite. For whatever reason the fluke are just not in this channel this year.
Third Drift
We broke away from the channel and finally caught our first few keepers. We move out with the wind.

Fourth Drift
It is not shaping up to be a good day. We only catch a few each drift with a couple of keepers mixed in.

Was not a great ay off fishing. Steve Kerry was high hook with 3 keepers.
Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Location: Eastern Raritan Bay
Tide: High 2:38pm
Water Temp: 78.7°
Wind: W 19kts
Moon Phase: 56% Full
Conditions
We had a hard west wind this morning, but after the storms blew through it came around to the SW and diminished considerably.
First Drift
A few shorts and not much else. The wind is hard out of the west and the rain is on the horizon.
Second Drift
Only a few fish. We are going to head east a ways to see if we can make it better.

Third Drift
We are picking away at the fluke, and there are some nice ones mixed in. “Killie Man” Tom is high hook with 3 keepers on this drift. There were a couple of 4 pounders caught as well.

Fourth Drift
Killie Man = Limit!!!! . . Now that gets a POW POW!!!

Ok. So I slacked off on the reports a little late in the day. We had a pretty good pick of fish. The ratio wasn’t great, but what else is new. Tom The Killie Man had his limit. See you tomorrow!

Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: High 1:28pm
Water Temp: 77.1°
Wind: N 10kts
Moon Phase: 41% Full
Conditions
We will have flood tide with a decent north wind to start the day. Not going to be the greatest of conditions.
Flukemaster Pool Update
The July pool is currently up to $560.00 and Anthony Rullo is still in the lead with a 6lb 8oz fish. Time is running out to catch the big one!
Angler Alert
If your in the pool today you need to know that Steve “Bow to your Sensei” Kerry is onboard. Steve has won 5 straight pools and has 11 wins on the season. There is no one hotter than him right now. Lets see if someone can take him down today!

Steve is so hot right now women are getting his face tattooed on their bodies!
First Drift
Ray Angotti got us started with the first keeper of the day. There were a couple dozen other fish caught that were released back into the wild.

Second Drift
We have a bit of a slider going on today. The lines are running to the northeast and the boat is going to the northwest making for some tangles. We are slowly picking at the fluke with the majority of the fish being released.
Third Drift
We are fishing in the holes that our to our north. We get shots of fish when we go up and down the edges, but not much in the deep of them. There were a couple of keepers caught on this one, but for the most part it was all shorts.
Fourth Drift
We are still fishing the holes to our north. We catch some fish each time we go through them, however, we do not keep much. Ray Angotti currently has the largest fluke on the boat which weighs 4 1/2 pounds.
Fifth Drift
Slow pickins on this one. The highlight of the drift was a 5 1/2 pounder which was caught Walter Petko. The wind has calmed down considerably. We are going to try a set of holes to our east.

Sixth Drift
We caught a few nice fish on this one up to 6 pounds. Running up for a redux.

Seventh Drift
We slowly pick at the fluke. It is not great by any means, but we do catch the occasional nice fish.

This is a kingfish that was snagged by a jig.
Eighth Drift
Some shorts with a keeper or two mixed in.
Fluking was ok today, but we did suffer from a horrific keeper ratio. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars on the fishing, and 1/2 stars on the keeping. Mary Ann Grossman was the streak buster today, ending Steve Kerry’s 5 trip pool winning streak. There are a lot of women around the country who are going to get tattoos lasered off their bodies.

Since I am working tonight I will keep the Live Updates going. Win, lose or draw I let you know how the evening went.
Location: Lower Raritan Bay
Tide: Low 7:42pm
Water Temp: 79.7°
Wind: W 7kts
Conditions
Excellent conditions to start the evening with a west wind pushing us along with the outgoing water. We will be fishing different grounds than we were fishing this morning. Going to try the flats that are northeast of our harbor.
First Drift
Well, all I can say that it was a start. We caught a couple of shorts. We are making a slight shift to a shoal that is a little west of us. We haven’t looked at it in over a week, so we will give it a shot.
Second Drift
We caught the first three keepers of the night with the biggest belonging to Laura Burg weighing in at 5 1/2 pounds.

Third Drift
Made this one in the Reach. We haven’t caught many fish in the channel this year. The Reach is usually gold for us every year, but this season the fluke have not been in it in any abundance. . . We caught a 4 pound keeper and a couple shorts. We are going to make the next one on the flats to the north of the channel.
Fourth Drift
Not good. Only a couple of shorts. Jumping back into the channel and giving it another look.
Fifth Drift
We S L O W pick at some shorts. Making the next one off the channel.

The fishing was not good this evening. We tried a lot of different areas, but they just did not want to bite. Laura Burg won the pool with a 5lb 3oz fluke.

Water Temp: 77.2°
Wind: WSW 5kts

Conditions
We will have very nice conditions with a light SW breeze pushing us with an incoming tide.
Weekend Update
The fishing on Saturday was terrible due to a very hard east wind on Friday. There was a big roll in the bay and it killed any chance we had of putting any kind of catch together. On Sunday the the fluking turned on as the day progressed. We pick away at the shorts with some shots at keepers every now and then. Steve Kerry was yet again the pool winner with a 5 pound fluke. That makes it 5 pools in his last 5 trips, and 11 pool on the year. Can you say, “En Fuego!!”

Steve Kerry won another pool yesterday, and as the true champ he has been, gave his fish away to a less fortunate angler. He also gave me the opportunity to take a photo of “The Ambassadors” Gulp collection. As some of you may not know, Steve does not use natural bait. He is a hardcore jig fisherman, and only uses bucks and Gulp. Today’s pool winner was caught on a red Gulp/Spro, and the last three pool winners including the June pool fish, were caught on black Gulp, which I heard has been labeled counterfeit. (Proof of Authenticity – click here ).
Todays Live Report
First Drift
We could not ask for better conditions right now, and we are slugging away at the fluke.
Second Drift
We picked away again at the fish with the first few keepers of the day being caught. It wasn’t as consistent as the first one, but it was still ok.

Third Drift
Slow picked on this one with a couple of keepers mixed in. We are losing the current, but still float slowly with the wind. Going to make the next one in some holes to our south. . Every fluke we catch has been spitting up crabs, mussels, and hermits.

Fourth Drift
The wind came around out of the east and is up against the tide. We still pick at the fluke, and have had a few shots of keepers. Still fishing in the holes to the north.

A keeper fluke spit up this whole squid after it was netted.
Fifth thru the Final Drift
The bite remained the same for the rest of the day. We had some very good moments where there would be a few on at once, and we would also have some dull moments as well. There were three people tied for high hook with 3 keepers.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

With 10 days left, Anthony “Barker” Rullo is the current leader in the July Flukemaster Pool with a 6lb 8oz fish. The pot is currently up to $540.00.
Posted on 20 July 2012 by Lou Russo
Location: Sandy Hook Bay
Tide: High 8:40am
Water Temp: 76.8°
Wind: E 19kts
Moon Phase: 2% Full
Conditions - Ahhh. . . What a beautiful day on the water. East wind blowing around 20. Taking some spray over the pilot house. Just another day in the office. . . It will be a nice ride home with the outgoing current and this wind. . . We are going to tuck ourselves into Sandy Hook Bay because it is the only option that we have with this wind, and see what wants to bite.
First Drift
Leave it to Mr. Steve Kerry to catch the first keeper of the day. There were a couple keepers and some shorts. . We are going to battle through a day of wind and rain today.

Jeff Freirich caught the second keeper of the day which was a nice 19 inch fish.
Second Drift
Despite the rain and wind, we are picking at the fluke. Steve Kerry put his third keeper in the cooler, and there was one other keeper as well.

Third Drift
Again, not bad considering the weather. We pulled up a few keepers, and a couple short. We are benefiting from a very good keeper ratio so far.
Fourth Drift
This one was not as good as the previous three. We only caught a few shorts with no keepers. And it looks as if there is a band of rain coming our way. Sweet!
Fifth Drift
We catch a keeper or two on each drift, and with only a handful of people on board, they are adding up. It is not great fishing at all, but considering the east wind which has increased to over 20kts, it is really not bad.

Sixth Drift
This one was not too good. Going to try the next one a little different.
Seventh Drift
No good. We are going to head back over to where we were originally fishing and had the most success.
Eighth Drift
Super duper fireball sea robin fishing! All birds on this one.
Ninth Drift
Not such a good end to the day.

Steve Kerry wins another pool!
Today was a pleasant surprise. The weather, with a hard easterly wind and rain, was terrible, but the fluking was ok. We picked at the fish for most of the morning, and ended up with some keepers. It did die out later in the morning as the wind increased, but you really couldn’t ask for more on a day like today, especially since we are really limited in the areas we can fish. High hook and pool winner was none other than Steve Kerry. Steve by the way has won 4 pools in a row and 8 pools for the year. Black Gulp once again did the trick for him. . . It looks like the weather should be ok for the weekend. We will see what happens with the fluke!

Water Temp: 78.8°
Wind: NE 12kts
Moon Phase: New Moon
Conditions
The wind is out of the east today around 12 kts. Going to tuck ourselves in somewhere and see if we can get something going.
Flukemaster Update
The pot is now up to $520.00 !!! Anthony “Barker” Rullo still has the lead for the month, but there have been some big fish caught in the area we are fishing. Could today be the day The Barker goes down?

First Drift
Some shorts and a couple of keepers. It’s a start!
Second Drift
Very much like the first one. A few shorts with a couple of keepers mixed in. . . We are fishing some flats to our west, and move in with the wind.
Third Drift
We catch some fish, but it’s not good enough. We are going to make a move to the north a little ways. We are handcuffed with where we can fish today because of the east wind and outgoing tide, but we will try and massage the problem.

Fourth Drift
Ahhh… Now we have rain. . Only a few shorts on this one. Making our way further north.
Fifth Drift
We made our way back up north to where we were fishing the past few days and started catching them immediately. We had a great drift with next to non stop action, but suffered from a poor ratio. . . On a side note the squid attack is on again. We caught a couple on the lines, and there have been a few following the baits to the surface. Although the wind is still out of the east, it has diminished considerably. . . Going to head back up and do it again!

Sixth Drift
We caught them again, but not as fireball as the last one. Running up to do it again. . . High hook has 3 keepers.

If your not using “Baitmate” your not in the game!
Seventh Drift
Dried up. Making a slight move for the next one.
Eighth Drift
We picked away at the fluke. Mostly shorts, but it’s pretty good fishing.

Ninth Drift
Another good one. We slug away at the fluke, however, they are mostly short. Bait is outfishing the jigs today.
Fishing today was very good for most of the day. We started in an area that we haven’t fished yet this season, and worked our way up to where we have been fishing the past couple of weeks. We had a few very good drifts where we would have a few on at all times, but as the story has been for the past few days, the majority of them were released back into the wild. Three people were tied for high hook with 3 keepers, and Rob Hides won the pool with a 4 lb 12 oz fluke.

Schedule Update – We WILL be sailing Thursday evening for fluke. We were scheduled to be chartered , but the charter was cancelled. We sail at 5pm.
Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: High 8:11am
Water Temp: 83.1°
Wind: W 8kts
Moon Phase: New Moon
Conditions - We will have the start of the outgoing water with a light SW breeze. Good conditions to begin the day!

We had absolute super fishing yesterday, however, we suffered from a poor keeper ratio. We are going to set back up in the same general area that we we fishing and see if we can find some bigger fish.
Flukemaster Update – The pot is now up to $520.00 !!! Anthony “Barker” Rullo still has the lead for the month, but there have been some big fish caught in the area we are fishing. Could today be the day The Barker goes down?

First Drift - Excellent conditions and some shorts to start the day.

We caught another live squid on the first drift. There have been tons of them in the area. Maybe we will catch a beast that is feeding on them..
Second Drift – Some shorts, but no keeps. We are fishing the edges of some holes in hopes of finding some bigger fish. Going to make the next one a little different.
Third Drift – Slow one this time, but we did catch our first keeper of the day. Joe Mattis is on the board!!

Fourth Drift – Not very good. We do not have the action that we had yesterday. Going to change up the area a little.
Fifth Drift – BOOM!! Like Columbus discovering America! We landed on them and had a beat ‘em up drift! Running up for a redux!

Sixth Drift – Excellent fishing again with shorts and keepers! High hook has 3 keepers. . . We had 3 people catch double headers on this one.

Double headers were a plenty today!
Seventh Drift – We had some moments and seemed to get out of them. According to the Solunar Chart we are about to get into the “High Activity” time! Strap on your seat belts and get ready for some fast and furious action!!

This short fluke had a live squid in it’s throat when it was caught.
Eighth Drift – We finished the day with excellent fishing! Joe Mattis won the pool with a 4 1/2 pound fluke.
We had another very good day of fishing. The ratio was not very good, but it was slightly better than yesterday. Three people were tied for high hook with 3 keepers and Joe Mattis won the pool with a 4 1/2 pound fluke. . . . See you tomorrow!!!

Water Temp: 72.9°
Wind: S 6kts

Conditions - We will have the start of the outgoing water once we get set up. Should be good conditions where we are fishing.
Flukemaster Update – The pot is currently up to $520.00 ! Anthony Rullo is in the lead with a 6 lb 8 oz fluke! Come on down and try to take the “Barker” down!
First Drift - Super fishing!! We beat up the fluke the with 4 and 5 fish on at all times. The bad news is that the ratio was atrocious. The aveage person caught between 15 to 25 fish. The fluke are in full assault mode with basically every fish swallowing the hook. We are going to move slightly north of where we were in hopes of a better ratio.
Second Drift – Our second 2 hour drift and again super fireball fishing. The ratio is still terrible, but the fishing is just plain outstanding!! These fish are on the feed and it is very obvious by how aggressively they are attacking the baits.
Third Drift – Still mohawkin the fluke. Going to make one more to finish it off.
Fourth Drift – Excellent fishing to end the day!!
WOW!! What a day we had! The fish were hungry and on the attack! As someone told me this morning, “The lunar calender says the bite will be on!”, and it was. Unfortunately we did not keep much at all. It didn’t matter what you put down, they were devouring everything. It was a great day all around, hopefully it continues!

Flukemaster Update – Anthony Rullo is in the lead with a 6 lb 8 oz fish. There has been a big one caught each day, so there is no reason to believe that this fish will hold up. Throw on the big jig and get in the game! The pot is currently up to $520 !

Anthony “Barker” Rullo
First Drift – Made our first drift just north of the Ammo Pier and slow picked at some fish. We drift out with the wind and tide.
Second Drift – Slow picked the shorts on this one. Making the next one a little more inshore.
Third Drift – John Lipari was a stud on this drift with 3 keepers to 4 1/2 pounds !! POW POW!!! . . . We had a shot of keepers all at once. Going to run up and land on the money spot again and see if we can grab some more.

Fourth Drift – Couldn’t recapture the magic in the honey hole. Only a couple of shorts. We are going to move on and change up the area. As John would say, “You have a little time if you would like to eat some lunch.”
Fifth Drift – We are fishing in some holes to our north and have found some keepers up to 6 pounds. It is no where near fireball steady fishing, however, we benefit from an above average keeper ratio. We are going to run back up and make another.

Sixth Drift – We made the same drift over the same area that we just went over on the last one and only caught one short which means we were carrying them with us on the last drift. Going to set up a little different for the next one.

Seventh Drift – No good. It looked like things were shaping up a couple of drifts before, but it didn’t happen. We are now on the bottom of the tide and are only moving slowly with the wind. Changing up the area again for the next one.
Eighth Drift – The Killie Man put his 3rd keeper in the box and is now tied for high hook. Other than that it was a slow drift.

The fluking was not great today. It looked like we were going to get into them a couple of times, but it just didn’t happen. The highlight was the 6 pounder, and John Lipari catching 3 keeps on one drift. Other than that it was a sub par day.

I am going to update this page as the day goes on. We completely changed up the area today, and are fishing a spot that we haven’t fished in a few weeks. The fishing has been very good so far with a good number fluke being caught, and some keepers as well. Steve Kerry put 4 keepers in his cooler on the first drift using his Spro/Black Gulp combo. We are running up to make a second drift. I’ll post an update after.
We lost the current and are having a hard time covering ground. We are going to make a move onto the Knoll and see if we can get some movement.
Once the tide changed the bite ended. We tried a number of different locations, but we would only catch a few on each one. Steve Kerry was once again the Flukestar of the day with 4 keepers including a 5 pound pool fish.

Not Photoshopped! We hid Ian behind him.

Wind: SSE 1kts

Conditions - We will begin the day with slack water, and will have the flood tide for the remainder of the trip. We will be fishing some deep water today in search of the one!
Flukemaster Update – Steve Kerry was bumped out of the top spot yesterday by Anthony Rullo with a 6 lb 8 oz fish. There has been a big one caught each day, so there is no reason to believe that this fish will hold up. Throw on the big jig and get in the game! The pot is currently up to $460 !

Anthony “Barker” Rullo
First Drift – We do not have much in the way of current right now, but we are slugging away at the shorts. No keeps on this one.
Second Drift – Pretty good fishing on this one with a few keepers and shorts. We still have outgoing water, but it will change soon.

Jo Herr caught the first keeper of the day.
Third Drift – We caught some fish on this one again including a keeper weakfish. We are in the deep of the channel in search of some bigger fish.

Fourth Drift – Right now you couldn’t ask for better conditions. We drift out slowly with the current, and caught a few better fish over 4 pounds. The fishing is not fast and furious, but we do have on on every minute or so. We are going to run up and see if we can put some more in the boat.
Fifth Drift – Well I put the mush on us by saying the conditions were perfect. The wind came up to around10 to 12 kts and is holding us up against the tide. We are going to make the next one just off the channel in some holes to our southwest. We will be able to float around there with this wind.
Sixth Drift – POW POW!! The daily beast has been landed! . . Ed Rakshys just put a 7 lb 2 oz fluke in the boat.

What they have been eating – I know that I have had this up for a couple of days, but it still applies. There has been a variety of bait in the flukes stomachs when I fillet. I have seen everything from shrimp to crabs to goby’s and whole squid. We have caught a few live squid on the lines during the past week which is why there are so many big fish in the area. They are following the schools and feeding on them. . . Steve Kerry used a black Gulp to catch the two 6 pounders yesterday, and 2 other fish over 20 inches.

First Drift – Some short action, but no keepers. We are at the end of the tide. Going to spin the boat around and see what bites.
Second Drift - We have a pick of mostly short fish right now. There was one nice one caught by Paul Nunez weighing 4 1/2 pounds, but other than that they are micro mini’s. We are going to make the next one in the deep of Ambrose.

Third Drift – Not much action. Heading up the channel to see what bites.
Fourth Drift – A couple of keepers and some shorts. We have a slow pick of fish. Going to change it up a little. We will still be in the deep on the next one.

Fifth Drift – BOOM!! Kerry goes down! The reigning Mr. June Anthony Rullo just took the lead in the monthly pool with a 6 lb 8 oz fish. There were a few nice ones caught on this drift, however, the drift is becoming too fast. We are going to have to leave the channel and make the next one to our south a peg.

Fishing was ok today. The ratio was not very good, but we did pick at the fish with some keepers mixed in. Anthony Rullo won the pool and is the new leader in the monthly pool with a 6 lb 8 oz fluke.

Second Drift – Not as good as the first one. We did catch a couple of keepers and some shorts, but it was not as good as the first one. . . We did lose a rod on the hook set, and rumor has it that it was at least 15 pounds creating a new legend for years to come!

Third Drift – It is not fireball fishing, but we do slow pick at the shorts with an occasional keeper mixed in. We did catch another big one on this drift. Keeper Pete put a 5 1/2 pounder in his cooler. There are some big fish in this area. If any of you internet anglers want to put on a bait big enough to choke a horse, you may just land a doormat!

Fourth Drift – The conditions are very good and the fishing has improved. We are slugging away at the shorts with a few keeps mixed in.
Fifth Drift – We continue to pick at the shorts with a keeper coming over the rail every now and then. The keeper ratio is poor so far today.

The fluking improved as the day went on. The keeper ratio was low, but we did catch some very nice keepers. Clark Stone and Keeper Pete both caught 5 1/2 pounders that tied for the pool, and there were a few fish in the 4 pound range.

Flukemaster Update – Steve Kerry knocked Pete Swolek out of the lead in the monthly pool with a 6 lb 1 oz fluke which he later topped wiith a 6 lb 3 oz fluke. The month is heating up and so is the competition in the Flukemaster Tournament. The pot is currently up to $420 !

Steve “Bow to your Sensei” Kerry
What they have been eating – There has been a variety of bait in the flukes stomachs when I fillet.

Steve’s black Gulp!

This whole squid was inside the stomach of a 20 inch fluke. We have caught a few live squid on the lines over the past week.
First Drift – 1 keeper and only a few shorts. Terrible conditions to start. We moved maybe 100 feet the whole time.
Second Drift – More of the same. The conditions, barring a wind shift, are definitely going to hamper today’s fishing. We will have incoming tide all day up against a NE wind.
Third Drift – Exactly the same. We catch a few fish with a keeper mixed in, however, on this one the keeper was a 5 1/2 pounder caught by Danny Barks.

Fourth Drift – The wind came around out of the SE and is helping us out. We picked away on this drift with a few keepers being mixed in. We are going to set back up and let it ride!

The fluke have been engorging themselves on crabs. This fluke had a live one still in it’s throat.
Fifth Drift – It looked like things were going to get going, but it just didn’t work out. We caught an immediate 20 inch keeper, but not much followed. We are going to change up the area and try something new.
Sixth Drift – A slow pick of shorts and keepers to end the day. James Narciso was today’s pool winner with a 6 1/2 pound fluke.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

The fluking was excellent once again on Sunday with fish up to 6 lb 3 oz. We had ok conditions and caught fish all day. John Hamor had his limit, and there were three others with 4 keepers. Steve Kerry caught back to back 6 pound fish, and took the lead in the July Flukemaster with a 6 lb 3 oz fluke. He had 4 fish on the day.

Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: High 10:40am
Water Temp: 71.3°
Wind: NE 5kts
Moon Phase: 90% Waning
Conditions - The wind is out of the NE, but it is basically nonexistent at the moment. We have incoming tide for the first few hours of the trip. Yesterday it broke wide open on the tide change. Hopefully we have the same thing happen today.
SCHEDULE UPDATE
We are chartered the next two evenings which means there will be no 5pm fluke trip. These charters ONLY effect the evening trips.
Flukemaster Update
Jim Handy is the current leader in the July Flukemaster Pool with a 4lb 12oz fluke. The pot is is up to $310 as of this morning.
Here are a few photos from last night.
Yesterday we caught the biggest fluke of the season weighing 10 pounds 1 ounce which was landed by Valerie Bruno. There have been some beasts caught in the area we are fishing over the past week, hopefully we can get in on the action again today.

First Drift – BOOM!! Awesome fishing with a ton of shorts and a very good number of keepers up to 5 pounds.

Second Drift – Another excellent drift!! We are fishing some ledges to our north and they are producing a ton of fish. We read bait life on the bottom, and the fluke are spitting up everything from grass shrimp to gobys to baby flounder. . . We have a new leader in the Flukemaster Pool. Pete Swolek took the lead over Jim Handy with a 4 lb 15 oz fluke.

Third Drift – POW POW!!! . . . An 8 1/2 pounder comes over the rail!! . . . We are having one of the finest fluking days of the summer. There are a ton of fish being caught and there are some beasts mixed in. Jeff Freirich just put an 8 1/2 pound fluke in the boat.

Fourth Drift – We had a tide change and do not have the greatest conditions with the wind up against it. We are still catching the fluke , but nothing like we were earlier. Going to make a slight shift for the final drift of the day.

Hey Judy! Leo says you missed a good one!!
Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Valerie Bruno with her 10lb 1 oz fluke!!
It’s been a few days since I posted anything basically because there was not much to report. The fluking has been very slow until today! We had a few hours of old school fireball fluking with 10 to 15 fish on at all times around the boat with the largest being a 10lb 1oz fluke caught by Valerie Bruno which is our largest fluke of the season. In addition to the beast were a few 6 pounders caught as well. . . We will be live tomorrow. I haven’t done the live updates in a week because of the lack of fluke, but tomorrow regardless of how the fishing is we will be live! See you then!!

Yesterday’s pool winner was Walter Petko with a 5 pound fish.
