Evening Update

Posted on 30 July 2011 by Lou Russo

The evening fishing has been good over the last week, and Carmen Patullo put his stamp on it last night by nailing a 7 1/2 pounder. We have been catching big fish all week, and it was good to see one on one of the evening trips.

This fishing is just awesome!! We have had some week and it continued again today. The ratio was slightly lower than it has been, but that didn’t stop five people from getting their limit of 8 fish. Let’s hope it continues through the weekend!!!

Another day of very good fluking! We have had an outstanding week and it continued today. Bob Centamore was the superstar angler of the day, catching his limit of 8 fish including one that weighed 8 pounds. Bill Venizia also caught his limit today. Let’s hope the good times continue!!! . . . I was way too busy again today to do the “Live” reports. I will try to do one tomorrow, but honestly, I hope we are too busy again. It is a great problem to have!!!

Tueday, 7/26/11 Report

Posted on 27 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: Low 11:00am
Water Temp: 79.1 degrees
Wind: NE 1kts
Moon Phase: 17% Waning

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – A slight wind against tide situation today.

Pool winner!!! Bill caught this 6 lb 3 oz pool winning fluke!!

Mid First Drift Report
WOW!!!! Absolute amazing fishing!!! Don’t know if I’ll be able to post anything today because it has been non stop crazy, beat ‘em up fluking!!! We are still on our first drift and we already have one limit and three people with 7 keepers. Biggest fish on the boat is around 6 pounds. . . I’ll try to post something later.

Ken Havens had the first limit of the day at 10:15am.

First Drift
Full out fluke assault!!!! We got off our first drift at 11:00 and completely destroyed the summer flounder the whole time. There are three people with their limit and two or three more with 7 keepers. . . The good thing about today is that we are catching these fish despite great conditions. The bad news is that there are two outbound ships about to come through the channel. . . I’ll try to post some pics and write a little more later. It is time to start filleting!!!!

Carlos Hernandez had his limit by 10:30am.

We had one of the best days of fluking that you will ever see! Eight people had their limit of 8 keepers, and three more had 7. It was a good old fashion fluke butt kickin!!

While Paul Franek took the day off, Jeff Lukowich used his spot
to catch his limit of 8 fish. Thanks Paul!!

Joe Illuzzi with another limit.

Jimmy Bufis, who caught 5 keepers in the first 20 minutes of the day,
also had a limit catch.

And another limit!!!

Tank scores 8!!!

8!!!!

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Monday, 7/25/11 Report

Posted on 26 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: Low 10:00am
Water Temp: 79.7 degrees
Wind: ESE 9 kts
Moon Phase: 28% Waning

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – A SE wind will be up against an ebb tide making for some difficult conditions, however, we will get a tide change a few hours into the day.

First Drift
Not where we left off yesterday, but a pretty darn good drift. The wind is strong enough to move us in against the current. 5 and 6 oz sinkers are the norm because as the wind is pushing us west, the current is carrying the baits to the east. Vinnie Rosato was high hook with 2 keepers. We have to mave for an outbound ship. Let’s hope that this doesn’t put the kabosh on the bite for a while.

Second Drift
The ship killed the bite. Making a slight move to the east.

Third Drift
KABOOM!! . . Made a move to the east and it paid off BIG time!! Mike D’Andrea landed the first official beast of the year for us weighing in at a whopping 11 lb 2 oz. . . . This was a very good drift overall. Running up for a redux!!!

Fourth Drift
This is turning out to be a very good day. The ratio wasn’t great on this one, but the fishing was top notch!! . . . Steve Kerry is high hook with 6 keepers. . . On a side note, the 11 pound fluke caught today is NOT in the July Flukemaster Pool. John Bottles remains in the lead with his 6 lb 5 oz fish.

Fifth Drift
Another stellar drift with non stop action. Much like the last one the ratio was not great, but we are seeing a handful of keepers each time. Steve Kerry up’d his lead to 7 fish. His is in the zone and locked into catching the ever elusive #8.

Great day of fishing!!! Steve Kerry was high hook with 7 keepers and Mike D’Andrea won the pool with a 11 lb 2 oz fluke!

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Sunday, 7/24/11 Report

Posted on 24 July 2011 by Lou Russo

After almost a week of suffering through the doldrums of July, we got up to bat today and smacked it out of the park. Right from the first bait hitting the bottom it was non stop hardcore fluke on fluke action with fish up to 6 1/2 pounds. “Jigging” John (Sorry, I didn’t get your last name before you left) put on a clinic up in the pulpit, catching his limit of 8 fluke up to 5 pounds and landing an estimated 50+ fish. While “Jigging” John was getting it done up in the bow, John Bottles and Ken Mclean were snappin necks and cashin checks in the stern combining for 12 fluke including a 6 lb 5 oz fish which was caught by Mr. Bottles, good enough to win the pool and take the lead in the July Flukemaster Pool. John Hannah, who is no stranger to catching big fish, had 5 keepers up to 6 pounds. We did lose the bite late in the morning after the tide change, but by then the damage had been done.

Update

Posted on 24 July 2011 by Lou Russo

I apologise for the lack of updates. I had a broken internet card issue that is now solved. . . The fluking over the past 3 days was definetly not as hot as the temperature, however, we are putting a hurting on the fish today. We made a 2 1/2 hour drift to begin the trip and had absolute beat em up success with fish up to 7 pounds. I will post a full report with photos later on today, and will be live tomorrow morning.

Wednesday, 7/20/11 Report

Posted on 21 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 12:00pm
Water Temp: 74.8 degrees
Wind: SSE 5 kts
Moon Phase: 74% Waning

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – We will have nice conditions with the wind and tide together. It has been slow fishing over the past few days. We will see if we can’t knock it out of the park today!

First Drift
We caught an immediate keeper, and didn’t see much after that. So, we have a pool winner. That’s a start!!

Second Drift
Slow go on this one. Going to change it up and head east.

Third Drift
We struck a little fluke gold on this one. Not a solid bar, but definitely a small nugget. High hook on the drift was Jon Allen with 3 keepers.

Fourth Drift
The gold turned out to be faux. . This drift was not as good as the last, however we did catch a few more keepers.

Fifth Drift
The gold ran dry. We made a long drift and slow picked the whole way. Joe Mattis is now high hook with 6 fish.

Today was another mediocore day. We had some moment when the bite turned on, but overall it was a 2 out of 5 star day. Joe Mattis was high hook with 6 keepers, and the pool winner was a 5 pounder.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

We had a tough day of fishing, but one 8 year old put on a superstar performance! Kenny Yeager was a boy on fire, winning the pool and earning high hook honors with 3 keepers. Other than Kenny it was a mediocore day at best.

Sunday, 7/18/11 Report

Posted on 18 July 2011 by Lou Russo

We had some very good fishing early, but as the day went on, and the outgoing current increased the fluking shut off. Bill Reid was high hook with 6 keepers an Rambo (Yes, his name is Rambo) won the pool with a 4 1/2 lb fluke.

There’s Rambo. . .                   And then there’s Rambo!!

Friday, 7/15/11 Report

Posted on 17 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 8:36am
Water Temp: 75 degrees
Wind: NW 8 kts
Moon Phase: 100% Full

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – The conditions will be perfect following the tide change. There is a light NW breeze that will help move us along the channel. The only problem is going to be the wait. We should start seeing the first of the outgoing water around 9:30.

First Drift
Ray Angotti got us started with what looked like a July Flukemaster contender, but ended up a few ounces short. Ray’s fish weighed in at 5 lb 6 oz. . . Not much movement yet. It is going to take a little while for the outgoing water to get to us.

Ray Angotti – 5lb 6oz

Second Drift
Time -35 min
Distance – .12
Still no outgoing water, and we basically sit like a rock traveling only a 10th of a mile in 35 minutes. On another good note, we just had to move for an onbound ship. Going to let it pass and jump back in the channel.

Third Drift
Time – 47 min
Distance – .39 miles
We caught some current on this one and slow picked at the fluke. Gulp/Spearing and small live snappers have worked well so far here today. . . . During a conversation up in the bow, I was asked about the age of the fluke that Ray caught on the first drift. I do have a sheet on board that gives an estimated age according to weight and length. The numbers on the sheet are probably from the mid 90′s, so the science has most likely changed since then, but until I see a new chart I will go by these numbers.

Male Fluke
Age    Inches    Weight
1yr         6.5″      0.1
2yrs      10.0″     0.4
3yrs      13.5″     0.9
4yrs      15.5″     1.4
5yrs      17.5″     2.0
6yrs      19.5″     2.8
7yrs      20.5″     3.3
8yrs      21.0″     3.7
9yrs      22.0″     4.4
10yrs    22.4″     4.5
11yrs     22.7″    4.6
12yrs     23.0″    4.8
13yrs     23.2″    5.0
14yrs     23.4″    5.1
15yrs     23.5″    5.3

Female Fluke
Age   Inches   Weight
1yr         7.0″      0.1
2yrs      11.0″     0.4
3yrs      15.0″     1.2
4yrs      18.0″     2.2
5yrs      20.0″     3.0
6yrs      22.9″     4.2
7yrs      24.0″     5.5
8yrs      26.0″     7.0
9yrs      27.5″     8.6
10yrs    28.5″     9.7
11yrs    29.5″     10.9
12yrs    30.0″     11.9
13yrs    31.0″     12.8
14yrs    31.5″     13.4
15yrs    32.0″     14.3

Fourth Drift
Time – 6 min
Distance – .01 miles
Caught nothing. Going to jump to the other side of the channel.

Fifth Drift
Time – 10 min
Distance – .09 miles
Not much going on right now. It is a slow pick at best. We are going to head east a half mile or so.

Sixth Drift
Time – 11 min
Distance – .14 miles
We let the boat drift across the channel this time, and it remains the same. Just a slow pick of fluke.

Seventh Drift
We caught just a few and are now going to head way to the east.

Eighth Drift
We pick a few to end the day.

Today wasn’t good, but it wasn’t terrible either. It seemed that the same people had all of the success. On a fluke rating scale I would have to give it 2 flukes out of 5. . . Ray Angotti won the pool with a 5 lb 6 oz fluke.

And of course the catch of the day

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Thursday, 7/14/11 Report

Posted on 14 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 7:48am
Water Temp: 76.8 degrees
Wind: N 21 kts
Moon Phase: 100% Full

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – A hard north wind will limit us to where we can fish, but luckily the area that we have had the most success as of late will be perfect with this wind.

Much like yesterday we started the day off on a very good note. There were fish everywhere and they added up for some, such as Ken Havens who put 3 keepers in his cooler. Unfortunatly the good fishing wouldn’t continue due to another day of heavy ship traffic. I’m behind 6 or 7 drifts, so I will just start the report from here. High hook is Ken Havens with 4 keepers, and we have a couple of 4 1/2 pound fluke on the boat. We are currently heading east out of the channel in hopes of making things better.

Well, things never improved. We had our best fishing of the day on the first two drifts before the ship traffic. Ken Havens was high hook with 4 keepers and the pool winning fluke was a 4 pounder.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Wednesday, 7/13/11 Report

Posted on 14 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 6:55am
Water Temp: 78.6 degrees
Wind: NNW 11 kts
Moon Phase: 97% Full

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – Once again today we will have good conditions with a NNW wind and outgoing water. We are getting started on the western side of the Reach, and as we get set up on first drift, I see an inbound ship about 10 miles away in Sandy Hook Channel. Hopefully we can get something going before it gets here.

First Drift
Pretty good drift to open the day. Paul Franek lead the way with 3 keepers, and the heaviest fluke of the drift was a 4 pounds. We have to move out of the channel for the ship, which by the way is loaded and has a deep draft. This will most likely will have a negative impact on the fluking for a while.

Second Drift
No good. We caught next to nothing on this one. Unfortunately the ship killed the fishing we had.

Third Drift
We slow pick the fluke with the very occasional keeper coming over the rail. It’s not great right now, but it’s something. . . On a side note, outbound ship on it’s way. Sweet!

The ship traffic did us in. The fluke would no longer bite in the channel for the rest of the trip.

The first drift of the day was the best. We caught a couple dozen keepers right off the bat, and everything went downhill from there. Paul Franek and Billy Gret were high hook with 4 fish, and the pool winning fluke was 4 pounds.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Tuesday, 7/12/11 Report

Posted on 13 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 5:56amm
Water Temp: 79.2 degrees
Wind: WNW 14 kts
Moon Phase: 91% Full

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – The one thing that has helped us have such success over the past few days is that the conditions have been excellent. Today as we make way out of our harbor we will be fortunate enough to have the favorable conditions once again with a NW wind combining with outgoing water. We are going to get set up in the channel and see what swims.

First Drift
We only caught a couple of shorts and one keeper. The drifting conditions are very good, but these fish are not in this location anymore. We may have to do a little scowering around to find them. Going to make the next one further west in the channel.

Second Drift
Ok. We drifted out the channel a ways and then let it go up the edge and into the flats with no success. We are now on a seek and destroy mission. They moved somewhere. We will just have to find them.

Third Drift
Time – 35 min
Distance – .81 miles
We headed back to the east a couple of miles and found some fish. Ernie Bertha lead the way with 3 keepers.

Fourth Drift
Time – 9 min
Distance – .23 miles
We had to make this one out of the channel because of an outbound ship and found only a few shorts. We are going to change it up and try one up on the flats.

Fifth Drift
Time – 1 hour
Distance – .96 miles
We are really struggling today to get anything going. This could just be a general shutdown from the fish. The water temperature is way up, and these fish have been engorging themselves with bait for the past few days. So, it may just be that they don’t want to eat. We were bound to have a slow day after three very good ones. Unfortunately for the people here, it’s today. . . Ernie Bertha continues to have the hot stick. Ernie landed a 5 pounder on this one.

Sixth Drift
Time – 12 min
Distance – .11 miles
Ugh!! No good. . With an inbound ship on the way, we are going to completely change the area up and head southeast to some shallow water.

Barring any drastic change in th fishing or something news worthy, I am ending the report for today. We struggled to find anything that wanted to bite all day, but after the success that we had over the past few days, it was expected sooner or later. Ernie Bertha most likely will be the pool winner with a 5 pound fish. He is also high hook with 4 keepers.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Monday, 7/11/11 Report

Posted on 12 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Another day of good fishing. We found the fish a little further west than they were over the weekend, and put together another solid catch. Ken Legend and Russ Yeager were tied for high hook with 7 keepers each, and Rob Falison threw 6 in his cooler. There were some people who struggled to put anything in their buckets, but as a whole it was pretty good. . . I know I write this all the time, and sometimes I sound like a salesman, but if you are not using Gulp, you are not putting yourself in the game. It is amazing over the last week, and for that matter the majority of the time, how much better the Gulp guys do over the bait fisherman. I would love to know what they put in the secret sauce because it is basically drugs for fluke. . . Anyway, back to the report, Ken Legend won the pool and is the new July leader with a 6 lb 1 oz fluke.

Wow!!! What a weekend it was! We had tremendous fish both Saturday and Sunday including 6 total limits being caught between the two days. Fred Lenord, Tony Everett and the Misty Boy did it on Saturday, and Jimmy Chambers, Joe Pasculli and Anthony Barker caught their 8 on Sunday. During Saturday’s trip Steve Kerry took the lead in the July Flukemaster Pool with a 5 pound fish.

Thursday, 7/7/11 Report

Posted on 07 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 12:45pm
Water Temp: 76.7 degrees
Wind: WNW 6 kts
Moon Phase: 42% Full

If you are looking into coming out on one of our evening trips please look at our schedule because we have some private charters coming up. These charters will only affect the evening trips.

Conditions – A light west breeze will push us to start the morning as we head out on the very end of the outgoing water. We should see the first of the flood tide within an hour of fishing. Conditions will not be great once the current starts to run because it will be up against the west wind. More good news is that there are 3 ships coming through the channel as I type. It may be a long day!

First Drift
Time – 30 min
Distance – .10 miles
We caught an immediate keeper and only a few shorts followed. Moving for the second and third ships.

Second Drift
Time – 11 min
Distance – .02 miles
Made this one out of the channel and did not see much. The last of this early ship traffic has past. We will jump back in and see if anything wants to eat. . . As I just finished writing this I noticed another outbound ship just rounding the bend to the far west. The fluking in this channel may not get going for some time with all this ship traffic.

Third Drift
Time – 19 min
Distance – .11 miles
Not good. With all the ships that have past and another one outbound we are going to head south onto the flats. We caught some fish there the past two afternoon, the only problem with fishing in that area is that you need to drift. Sometimes in the channel you get lucky and catch the fluke with no movement, but on the flats you have to cover some bottom in order to get anything going. We will see if we have any float once we stop.

Fourth Drift
Time – 31 min
Distance – .18 miles
We picked away at the shorts with no keepers being caught. Right now this is the only game in town. We did move in slowly with the current. Going to make this one again.

Fifth Drift
Time – 21 min
Distance – .13 miles
Caught some keepers on this one. It isn’t great fishing right now, but considering the conditions that we are deal, it isn’t too bad.

Sixth Drift
Time – 14 min
Distance – .07 miles
Only a few short with a couple of keepers being caught. Going to head back into the channel.

This crab was inside of the flukes throat when we pulled him out of the net.

Seventh Drift
Time – 20 min
Distance – .18
We are moving in with the current very slowly. There were a few fluke caught which is going to give us some hope that things may just get going. Going to jump to the other side of the channel.

Eighth Drift
Time – 13 min
Distance – .08 miles
This one was not very good. The conditions with the wind against the tide are really killing us here today. Going to head west and see if we can improve things.

Ninth Drift
Time – 11 min
Distance – .06 miles
We are giving up on the channel and heading back to the flats. It is the only place we had any success today.

Tenth Drift
Time – 18 min
Distance – .09 miles
We are struggling today. We did catch a nice fluke on this one which as of now is the pool fish, but other than that it is slow. Going to head east into the channel and see if we can find something to keep.

The fluke hit us with a right hook to the chin today. We covered a lot of bottom and it was the same everywhere. It was just not good. Whether it was the ship traffic or the wind against tide, the fluke just did not want to bite.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Wednesday. 7/7/11 Report

Posted on 07 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 11:46am
Water Temp: 73.7 degrees
Wind: WNW 1kts
Moon Phase: 31% Full

Conditions – We are heading out on the tide change and have very little in the way of wind. To add to the not so great conditions, there are two outbound ships. Nice! . . . We will have incoming tide all day.

First Drift
Not many fish, but the keeper ratio is phenomenal!! Just about everything we catch, we keep. . . The conditions are not very good, and the two ships early this morning really hurt us.

Second Drift
This one was much like the first. We do not move at all, but everything we catch is staying.

Third Drift
We made a long drift on this one lasting over two hours, picking the whole way. It is not fireball fluking, but we catch enough to keep us locked in, and there are some good sized fish as well. High hook has 4 keepers.

We caught some fish on the flats to end the day.

The fluking today was ok. Some people made out much better than other, but that’s fishing. We had some early ship traffic that hurt us in the morning, and had a steady pick all day. It was not the greatest of fluking days, but for some people they did add up. The “Bow People” made out the best using bluefish strips. High hook had 5 keepers and the pool winning fluke weighed in at 5 lb 10 oz.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Tuesday, 7/5/11 Report

Posted on 06 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 11:46am
Water Temp: 72.5 degrees
Wind: NW 4kts
Moon Phase: 21% Full

Conditions – I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!! . . . Very late start on the report today. This past weekend is always the busiest of the year for us, which makes updating the site nearly impossible. The good news is that we are having a very good morning of fluking! The conditions are not great with the wind against the tide, but the fluke want to eat! There will be a tide change around noon. Things might even get better with the change.

We are already on our fourth Drift, so I will begin the report from here. High hook has 6 keepers, and there are some with 4 and 5. Spros with a chartreuse Gulp Swimming Minnow and a plain high hook with the same are way out fishing anything else right now.

Fourth Drift
We are on the tide change and waiting for the first of the outgoing water. Things have slowed somewhat, but I anticipate the fluke rodeo will resume soon.

We had a pretty good day of fishing. Chartreuse Gulp swimming minnows did the trick. High hook and pool winner was Danielle Murdoch with 7 keepers.

Check back tomorrow for more live updates.

Thursday, 6/30/11 Report

Posted on 01 July 2011 by Lou Russo

Location: Raritan Reach Channel
Tide: High 7:54am
Water Temp: 74.7 degrees
Wind: NW 8kts
Moon Phase: 1% Waning

Conditions – We will be setting up on the tide change and will have outgoing water for the whole trip. A 10 knot NW wind will help us move along the channel. Let’s just hope it doesn’t increase as it did yesterday. . . As we are nearing the Reach I already see that the Sandmaster is outbound a few miles west of us. Much like the wind, let’s hope the ship traffic doesn’t hamper our efforts again today.

First Drift
Time – 23 min
.36 miles
We had a shot of fish right off the bat with Tom “The Worlds Greatest Angler” catching the first keeper of the day. We didn’t catch much after the initial dozen.

Second Drift
Time – 14 min
Distance – .10 miles
Jimmy Bufis showed his jigging skills on this one by putting 2 keepers in his cooler. Both were caught on a Spro/Gulp combo. We have to move the Sandmaster. Going to jump back in once it clears.

Third Drift
Time – 36 min
Distance – .73 miles
We are drifting nicely despite the lack of any current, and picking away at the fluke. Mr. Bufis jigged up a 5 pounder adding to his two other fish. We are runnin up for another drift.

Fourth Drift
Time – 56 min
Distance – .68 miles
We are still picking away at the fluke. Ken “The Legend” Haven caught 4 keepers on this drift up to 4 1/2 pounds making him the new high hooker so far today. (The bigger one was snagged in the side.) We still do not have much in the way of current. Luckily there is enough to the NW breeze to give us some float.

Fifth Drift
Time – 57 min
Distance – .73 miles
I have been writing for the past week or so about how much shrimp these fluke have inside them. Today the people who have listened and came with small shrimp jigs or Gulp shrimp are far outfishing everyone else. We are heading just a little more west for the next one.

Sixth Drift
Time – 12 min
Distance – .19 miles
Other than Mr. Bufis catching his 5th and 6th keepers, it was very slow. Going to make a move to the east about a mile or so.

Seventh Drift
Time – 32 min
Distance – .68 miles
The fishing is not great at the moment, and it seems like the same few people are catching the keepers. Jimmy Bufis and Ken “The Legend” are tied for high hook with 6 keepers each, and Steve Kerry, who slowly putting a nice catch together, has 4.

Eigth Drift
Time – 10 min
Distance – .22 miles
The fluking is just aveage right now. The only thing to report on this one is Mr. Bufis catching his 7 keeper.

Mr. Bufis holding his limit of 8 keepers.

Ninth Drift
Time – 21 min
Distance – .62
Highlight of the drift was Mr. Bufis catching the limit fish!! Other than that it has been a slow go.

Fishing was very good for some and a bit of a struggle for others. I wrote  a few times today that people using any variation of shrimp, whether it be Gulp, fly, jig, etc, had the most success. Jimmy Bufis was the star of the day winning the pool with a 6lb 8oz fluke, and catching his limit of 8 keepers. Ken “The Legend” was right behind him with 7 keepers up to 5 pounds.

“The Legend” with his 7 keepers.

Top 5 Fluke Count
