See You Next Spring!!!

I would like to thank all of our angler for making 2008 a great year. Overall the fishing was pretty good despite the regulations. There were some clunkers, but there were also some shinning moments as well.
I know that we are all a little beat up after a long season, but last week I received my copy of the 2009 Fishing Almanac, and they are predicting next year to be stellar!! According to their report, there is a record biomass of fluke that will be making there way into Raritan Bay by late May. That gives us all some time to tie up some killer rigs, order the perfect Spro, re-spool our reels, and look deep inside ourselves to figure out how we can make ourselves better anglers and gameplan for '09.
So all you live baiter's, jigging masters, two spearing anglers, and 5 hook long liners, have a good and healthy holiday, and we will see you next year. Thank you again!!!!!

Sunday, 11/9/08 Report

11.9.08.john.jpg    The seas were not as angry today, and the fishing was just as good. We saw more porgies today, and just as many sea bass. The people with crabs caught the blackfish. Overall it was another good day. It's always good when people go home with coolers and bags of fish. We are only fishing for a few more weeks, so come down and get some before it's over for the year. John Hannah won today's pool with a 5 pound blackfish.

Saturday, 11/8/08 Report

1108081452.jpg    The weather wasn't great, and to quote the great George Costanza, "The seas were angry", but that didn't stop the fish from biting. Very good fishing today. The sea bass well outnumbered the porgies and blackfish, but the porgies we did catch were very big. Only made one drop all day, as that was all that was needed. A 5 pound blackfish won today's pool.

Tuesday Evening Bass Charter

11.4.08.bass2.jpg    We had a striped bass charter last night, and it ended up being pretty good. We were fishing in Sandy Hook Channel and read a ton of life, however it took a L - O - N - G time to get things going. It was actually starting to look like it was going to be a "No hits, No runs, No Errors" kind of night, but fortunately they they decided to bite toward the end of the trip on the change of tide. We stayed out an extra hour and put a dozen fish in the boat up to 30 pounds.

Saturday, 11/1/08 Report

11.1.08.bow.jpg    We made it out today after a little hiatus due to the weather, and found excellent fishing offshore. After getting set up on our anchor, we began catching porgies immediately. There were some sea bass and blackfish being caught, but it was definitely 85 - 90% porgies. The fishing remained good through the morning and into the afternoon. High hook had 43 porgies and a few sea bass, and today's pool winner was John Hannah with a 5 pound blackfish.
