For the first 4 hours of the day we had very good fishing and keeping. Unfortunately, we did not get a wind shift with the tide change like we had Saturday and Sunday, subsequently making us sit like a rock for the remainder of the day. We did continue to pick the fluke, with an occasional shot of fish, but nothing like the morning. Still overall a good day. Al Gallo, Stirling, NJ, had his limit of 8 fluke.

The fishing today was just as good, if not better than yesterday. We didn't see the big fish like Saturday, but overall we saw more keepers per person. PERFECT drifting conditions again with the wind direction swinging to the S.E. with the tide change. High hook caught 7 keepers while 8 other anglers had 6 fish to take home. Tom Salerno won today's pool with a 4 1/2 pound fluke. This was hands down the best weekend of fishing and keeping that we have had so far this season. Once again.....Great success!!!!
Today was definitely the best day of keeping we have seen yet this fluke season, with close to 90 keepers for 23 people. The pool winner was an 8 pound fluke and we had a good number of 4 to 6 pound fish as well. High hook had 7 fish. We had ideal drifting conditions all day with the wind and current together in the morning, and the wind swinging around to the southeast for the incoming. It was good to go out and mohawk the fluke for a change, and it was even better looking at all the buckets of racks we had at the end of the day. Great success!!!
Today was not too good. Wind against tide conditions kept us from drifting at all, and that put the kibosh on the fishing. We have been catching fish despite unfavorable conditions, but not today. The fluke weren't as aggressive as they have been during the past few days, choosing to lay on the bait rather than hit it forcefully. Overall a disappointing day. We'll try again tomorrow.
It took us a while to get going today, but once the tide started to move, we started to pick away at the fish. The keeper ratio was way down again, but that's nothing new. Today's high hook had 5 fish.
I was looking forward to heading out today until I arrived at the boat and saw a west wind. Knowing that we would have an incoming tide till noon, we would have to deal with wind against tide conditions all morning. We did not catch much of anything until the change of tide when we finally got some movement with the wind and current together, but unfortunately it wouldn't last because thunderstorms moved through our area. That pretty much finished us for the day. Pretty disappointing day.
Fishing was ok today. Alot of fish, not too many keepers. Still fishing the western end of the reach. Seyang Maier won today's pool with a 7 pound fluke.
The fishing was not good today. The first drift was probably the best, although we did have a small shot of fish late in the day.
Started the day fishing the Reach. The first drift of the day was the best. Made a couple long drifts that produced shorts and a few keepers. The ratio was not very good with many anglers catching fluke in the double digits without a keeper. Slowly picked away for the remainder of the day. High hook was Randy Vena with 5 fish.
After many conversations with Verison's DSL operator "Timmy", who resides in India, I have finally straightened out my connections problems by switching to a new Internet Service Provider. As of today I will be back in action with the reports. I do apologize for the lack updates over the past week or two.
Not very good fishing at all early this past week. The full moon on Tuesday had everything to do with that. Whether we had perfect conditions or not, the fish did not bite which is typical for the moon phase.
Our first drift of the day was the best with many fluke coming over the rail. Unfortunately, most went back over the rail into the bay. The keeper ratio was way down again. Had some storms come through around 11:30 and that basically shut the fishing down. Didn't catch much after that. This is also the first day in about a week that we didn't catch a big fish.
Fishing was good today. Ratio was not. We did see a number of big fish come over the rail. Today's pool winner was an 8 pound fluke caught by Scott Smith, and we had a few 6 pound fish as well. Still fishing the Reach Channel.
Alot of shorts today. Still fishing in the Reach. Keeper ratio was not so good. High hook had 4.
Another day with poor drifting conditions. Made stops along the Reach, Sandy Hook, The Knoll, and Chapel Hill Channel, and it wasn't good. Late in the day we decided to head back to the Reach where we had our best fishing last week. Fortunately, the wind came around out of the south enough to push us with the last of the incoming tide, and we had a nice little shot of keepers to end the day. Hopefully, the front that is coming through tonight will spark the fishing tomorrow. I think the extreme heat over the past few days is what shut down the fishing.
Another day with no conditions on the Reach. Incoming tide and a west wind made us head out into the ocean and try our luck there. Made a few stops along the way, but it wasn't good. The last couple of days have been a disappointment. Try again tomorrow.
Very good fishing today, however keeping was poor. Didn't have favorable conditions on the Reach, so we headed east to Sandy Hook. We discovered a new body of fish that moved into our area overnight. Unfortunate, they were very small fish. Most fish measured between 8 to 12 inches. The action on shorts continued throughout the day with an occational keeper coming every now and then. We didn't put many in the coolers. Ratio was very poor today.
Ok fishing today. Slow most of the morning, but things picked up after noon. The last drift of the day was the best with a good amount of keepers being caught with some shorts and sea robins too. Kenny Havens, Hoboken, NJ, was today's high hook with 5 fluke, and Big Tom Anderson caught the beast of the day.
Did not sail due to weather.
Another day with ideal drifting conditions. Spent the day fishing the western end of the Reach Channel working both sides and the deep, and finding fluke on all, however keeping was an issue. Plenty of shorts and robins in the morning to keep everyone active with an occasional keeper being caught. High hook had 4 fish, and the pool winner was a 4 pounder.
Sorry for the delay with the posts. I experienced some modem issues, and had to purchase a new one today. Anyway, I'm back in action!! Tomorrow night I'll put up the pictures from the past few days.
Good fishing again today. If you could keep your bait down long enough without catching a sea robin, there were fluke to be caught. Unfortunately, the ratio was not great. Most of the keepers we did see were very nice sized with the majority being well over the 18 inch limit. High hook was Al with 4 keepers, and Mike Lee won today's pool with a 5 pound fluke.
Pretty good fishing today. Had some nice sized fish come up. Conditions were good most of the day. The drift got a little fast toward the end of the outgoing tide. Tried hanging in the area we were fishing in hopes that the drift would slow up with the change, but the wind increased out of the west just enough for that not to happen. Headed east out the channel, but couldn't get the same fishing we had earlier in the day. Our best fishing has come on the outgoing tide with a water temperature of 61.5 degrees on th e change. Incoming tide has been around 57 degrees. Today's high hook was Mike Honcho with 4 keepers, and John Bottles won the pool with a 5 pound fluke.
Fishing was no good today. We caught a few on the first drift, but after that it was all downhill. Donnie Cutrpi won today's pool.
