Headed to where we spent the day yesterday and set up on the anchors. It was a slow, slow pick. Just like yesterday, we were afraid to move in fear of making the fishing worse. Everyone caught at least one keeper in what ended up being another difficult day. Jimmy Hendrick showed his flounder angling expertise by putting 7 keeper flounder in his cooler. Bob Borzotta caught the beast of the day weighing in at 3 pounds.

We will begin sailing for Ling on Wednesday's from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Sometimes you're the bug. Sometimes you are the windshield. Today we were the bug. . . Fishing was no good. Started the morning outside of our harbor. Made a couple of drops. Tried a couple of drifts. Nothing wanted to bite. Picked up and headed to the pier, but it didn't get any better. Just a bad couple of days of fishing. We are on a full moon tomorrow. Things should perk back up once we get past it.
Gary Thompson battled through a day of tough fishing to win today's pool. As he was receiving his millions, he was overheard saying, "Too bad Jay and Steve had to work!!"
Today was not good. Actually it was quite disappointing after the past few trips. Hopefully, it will pick up again once we get off the full moon in a couple of days.
Fishing wasn't bad today. Started the morning fishing by the Ammo Pier. Didn't shape up the way it did the on Sunday. Picked up the anchor and headed back to our end of the bay for the change of tide. Once we got set up, we started to pick. Had a couple good shots of fish. Kenny "The Legend" Havens, Hoboken, NJ, was high hook with 9 fish. So far it was the best flounder fishing we have had this season.
Our evening striped bass trips begin this Saturday night. We will be sailing Wednesday thru Saturday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
Started the morning outside of our harbor. We did catch a few, but it was not good fishing at all. So, we picked up the anchor and headed east toward the Ammo Pier. Got set up on the beginning of the flood water, and started to catch a few right away. Kind of a slow pick, with one really good shot of fish coming later in the tide. Thought it was the start of something good, but as fast as it started, it ended. Overall it was the best fishing we have seen yet this season. Only made one drop at the Ammo pier. Saw alot of the other boats bouncing around, and with the pick we had, we didn't want to make it worse. It ended up being ok. Everyone had something in there buckets, with many having 4 and 5 keepers. Today's high hook was Danny Martin, Bayonne, with 7 fish, and his tag team partner Artie Martin threw in 5 to go along with it. It looks like the weather for this week is going to be good with some warmer temps coming later in the week. This is exactly what we need to get this fishing perked up.

The weatherman was right when he predicted the forecast for today. It was an absolute beautiful day on the water. Left the dock and headed just outside of our harbor again. Started the day on a drift. Caught 4 flounder right off the bat, but it was a long wait before we got another one. Once the drift became a little too quick, we anchored up and began chumming. It was very slow till the end of the tide. On the change we set up for a drift again, and had some shots of fish. We would catch 2 or 3, and then have a long wait before we got another 2 or 3. I was a little disappointed overall with the day. I had a good feeling with the weather that today might be a breakout day, but it just didn't happen. Today's "Superstar" was Jeff Lublang who not only won the pool, but was high hook with 6 fish.
Not a bad day. A little cold, but that's April in New Jersey. We left the dock and anchored up outside of our harbor. Had incoming tide till 11:30, and the water temperature was 46 degrees. Caught a couple right away, and had a pick until the tide stopped running. Made a small move to set up for the outgoing water, and picked for the remainder of the trip. Gary Thompson lead the way with 7 flounder. We did see a couple bigger fish that measured just over 17 inches. . . Looks like we have some warmer weather coming through for the next couple of days. This is just what we need to get this fishing going.
We will resume our normal schedule tomorrow morning. I hope everyone took the opportunity over the past few days to get in a good arm and shoulder workout because we plan on putting a hurtin on the flounder population this week. Start preheating your ovens!!!!
Opening Day '08!!!!
"Snakehead" Lenny, Union Beach, NJ, caught this Mudpuppy on one of his homemade killer flounder rigs. Lenny had 2 keepers on the day.
We are coming for you!!!!
